Pupils represented OLOL d in a public speaking competition, where they each selected a topic of personal interest and delivered a two-minute speech. In preparation, they developed key oracy skills, focusing on volume, body language, intonation, rhetorical questions, and the use of emotive language.

Clara gave a compelling speech on creativity as her superpower, while Evangeline addressed the important issue of women’s access to sports. Both delivered their speeches with confidence and clarity, standing out among the competitors. Clara’s performance was particularly well received—she was voted Best Public Speaker by students from the 14 other participating schools, a testament to her powerful delivery and stage presence.
