At Our Lady of Lourdes we believe in supporting all children to achieve their full potential; emotionally, socially and academically. We offer an inclusive learning environment and culture to help all of our pupils make the best possible progress.  We aim to provide high quality (Quality First) teaching for all our pupils.

This includes appropriate adapted teaching in lessons, high quality resources and effective use of additional adult support as needed. We aim to identify and break down possible barriers to learning so that all our pupils experience success. This does not mean treating all pupils equally; it means treating all pupils as individuals and ensuring they have the required provision to achieve the best possible progress.

Children learn in different ways. Some children find learning harder than others. This can be for a variety of reasons:

• Struggling with reading, writing or number work.
• Difficulty processing basic information
• Organising themselves
• Understanding and following rules and routines
• Making friends/ social interactions
• A sensory or serious medical need

These children are said to have Special Educational Needs. This does not include children whose first language is not English.
